Amazing Tongan island forming photos

These photos were sent to me of an underwater volcano around Tonga.

First the plume, then the island formed island formed.

Amazing how active the world still is.

These photos are not of a beach, but of the ash floating on the surface of the water.

Although it looks like a beach.

That is really a yacht sailing across the floating rock.

Here is the boat wake crossing the floating sand/ashIn the distance they could see the volcanic plume

Followed by a larger volcanic plumeAnd an islandForming right out of the ocean

On a calm day

First sighted

Just west of Tonga

Where is the island now?

And who owns new land?

If the island appears just at the limit if Tongan territorial limit does that then re-extend the country of Tonga further into the Pacific?
