Yacht Charter Guide

Geocaching Tonga

Geocache Vava 'u, Kingdom of Tonga

Ready for an enjoyable trek through one of Tonga's national parks? This is one of my favorite loops anywhere in Tonga. On a hot day most of the walk is in the shade. On an over cast day you get to walk out to see the best views in all of Tonga.

The guide to the park says the walk has ropes to help thorough the difficult parts. You can see from the photos it's not repelling, but more of a handrail. Yes, there are ropes, but don't be concerned that you need climbing gear. I have walked this loop twice and both time I wore smooth bottom boat shoes.

Note-I would not recommend this walk in the rain, only because I would think the area would become slippery.

Time needed

Expect this trek to take at least two hours from the center of town. If you took a taxi to the base of the park then you can easily make the whole walk in an hour, but I find the walk from town easy, flat and worth the views along the way.

Way to play

Print this page and photos on the right. Go to the way point listed under "start here". At this way point you'll see a view that contains one of the photos on the right. Under that photo will be another way point listed. Walk to the listed way point and again look at the view around you and choose the photo you are located at. Under that photo will be another way point Go to that way point and continue till your back in town.

You will find a view that corresponds to a photo on the right. Continue the game from the photos on the right.

Note-Notice a few photos on the right are doubled up. In other words two photos are stacked on top each other with only one way point This is so you don't miss the two attractions at one way point For example there might be a fantastic rock cut and an outrageous outlook combined in one spot.

Good luck

Good luck and send me an email about how your walk was.

Note the walkway here has ropes, but it's not a repelling exercise.

These are the steps that might be the most difficult of the complete walk
